Reflection

Both qualitative and quantitative research methods terminologies were brand new to me. I knew that this project would be a great learning tool to compare and contrast the varying factors that make each method unique. Applying this learning to the student affairs paves way to a more needs based assessment and outcomes. For example, professionals in the field are able to use these methods to better current programs or to create new ones that will effectively serve the student body. I rated myself a competent for both of the learning outcomes because I felt the growth in my knowledge between the two methods. Further, I emmersed myself with the understanding and knowledge to student veterans during this project. I was able to reflect about what lived-experienes, factors, and people affect the student population. Learning and understanding the students and the various research methods this semester allowed for this project to be successful.
